The Ties that Bind Us.
“When we seek to investigate the very root of our being, we discover our 'Oneness'-- each person; an entity, buzzing with energy-- witnessing this 'thing called life,' together. Remove the labels, the conditioned beliefs which have been falsely ingrained: what we are left with, at the very core of each soul, is Love. We are all love-- all born from this enigmatic force; and it is through employment of the very force from which we came, that we must dismantle learned separateness. While we may have been raised in different places, and perhaps appear different, externally; we come from the same starry ocean. Huddled Masses shares a message of unity, despite, and in spite of the distinct upbringing. As a born and raised New Yorker, my heart is forever tethered to my City, my neighborhood, the familiar scents from the street, and the whiffs of fragrant aromas slithering from Upper West Side window screens. The rhythm of the hustle-bustle sings within me, and I sing along as I walk through this life. No matter where I go, what I do; New York will always inspire love. When Cait approached me about this project, I was excited by the mission and ecstatic to partner with such an immensely talented artist and crew. Each moment on set was imbued with life, color and a sense of community. While I have many passions; poetry, performance, yoga, psychology, the study of emotion, being a few, and while i quite enjoy embarking on a path which expresses my tendency toward being a "Jill of many trades; " my primary interest is in witnessing the meaning of truth; not cognitively speaking, but through a type of living, breathing action which involves the exploration of beauty and love's influence(s) in the world. I enjoy exploring the 'beginner's mind' as i move throughout this terrain, embracing the inspiration and endless out-pour of beauty and love-- which nature so effortlessly provides. Through fashion, Cait has exemplified, not only my truth, but a living truth, which transcends the individual. We are all tethered. We are all The Huddled Masses; moving about, in our own unique ways.”
